Serik Sagitov

Serik Sagitov received his Ph.D. degree, under the supervision of V. Vatutin, from Steklov Institute of Mathematics, Moscow, Russia, in 1983. Since 1997, he has been working at the Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden, first as a Guest Researcher and then as a Professor since 2009. His main research interests are branching processes, coalescent theory, population genetics, and theoretical phylogenetics.
