Pingfu Fu is an Associate Professor at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA, and a Member of Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, Cleveland, OH, USA. He earned his Ph.D. degree in biostatistics in 2001 and received his M.S. degree in statistics in 1996. Prior to coming to USA, Fu received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in mathematics in China. His research touches topics from statistical methods and theory in areas of survival analysis, study design, and measurements with limits of detection to data analysis of clinical trials and to subject areas of epidemiology, cancer (breast, prostate, melanoma, lung, leukemia, renal, thyroid, and ovarian), HIV/AIDS, and dermatology. His primary interests in these content areas include providing advice for researchers in terms of study design and best practice for estimation, diagnostics, and use of appropriate statistical methods to analyze the complex data from preclinical and clinical studies.
