Indra Basumallick

Indra Basumallick is a Professor of chemistry at the Visva-Bharati University, an institute of national importance in India. He got his Ph.D. degree from the Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and the postdoctoral research experiences from different international institutes. His research interests are electrochemistry of solutions, solid–state electrochemistry, nanomaterials, fuel cells, and biofuel cells. Based on his research, he published seventy papers in the field, supervised fifteen Ph.D. students, and completed nine major government-funded research projects. He is a recipient of the title Fellow of State Science and Technology Academy for his contribution to applied electrochemistry and being a member or an ex-member of ECS, ACS, ECS-India, and SAEST at CERRI. He acted as reviewer of the Journal of Power Sources, Journal of Solid State Ionics, Journal of ECS, Indian Journal of Chemistry, and others. Currently, his research group is interested in development of nano-electro-catalysts for ethanol fuel cells.
