Marcella Reale, born in January 30, 1957 in Montorio al Vomano, Italy, is a Professor of general pathology, University of Chieti, School of Medicine and gained her Ph.D. degree from the University Alma Mater of Bologna and degree in experimental medicine from Università degli Studi "La Sapienza," Rome, Italy. Professor Reale is interested in characterization of functional and immunological activation of PBMC from patients with neurodegenerative disease, identification of pathogenic role of inflammatory cytokines and their activation pathways, for following disease activity and monitoring the therapeutic response, and in the effect of ELF-EMF exposure on biological system and their potential therapeutical application. She is responsible for research proposals for grants submission, selection, hiring, and supervision of research staff, organization, and presentation of research findings. She is a Reviewer for Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology; Journal of Psychiatric Research; Neuroscience Letters; European Cytokines Network; Neurochemical Research; Psychiatric Research; Preparative Biochemistry and Biotechnology; Acta Biomaterialia; European Cytokines Network; Neuroimmunomodulation; Reviewer di AGE; Plos; Acta Neuropsychiatrica; Cochrane Dementia and Cognitive Improvement Review Group. She is a Guest Editor for Journal Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Allergy Agents in Medicinal Chemistry (AIAAMC) and International Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease. She is on the editorial board of International Journal of Immunopathol and Pharmacology; Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease; International Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease (SAGE-Hindawi); International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Medicine; International Journal of Alzheimer's Disease.
