Sellakkutti Rajendran

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Sellakkutti Rajendran holds the Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Science. Prior to his doctoral research, he had worked for about 5 years as an R&D Engineer in automotive industries. After his doctoral research, he visited the University of Hong Kong for a year for his postdoctoral research. Then, he worked as a Scientist at the National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore, for about 3 years. He moved to Singapore in 1998 and worked as a Senior Engineer at the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board for about 2 years and as a Research Fellow at the Center for Advanced Numerical Engineering Simulation, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for about 2 years. He joined the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, NTU, as an Assistant Professor in 2001 and works currently as an Associate Professor. His primary research lies in the area of computational mechanics. His research interests include development of mesh-distortion-tolerant finite elements, hybrid FE-meshless methods, molecular dynamics (MD) simulation of carbon nanotubes, computational methods for large eigenproblems, simulation of MEMS gyroscope, and delamination buckling of composites.
