Normand G. Boulé

Normand G. Boulé is currently an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation at the University of Alberta and a primary investigator within the Alberta Diabetes Institute. He completed his Ph.D. degree in kinesiology at Laval University (2005) and his undergraduate and M.S. degrees in human kinetics at the University of Ottawa (1998 and 2000). His research program examines the effect of physical activity in the treatment and prevention of diabetes. Research interests range from exercise physiology to health promotion. More specifically, his current areas of research are effects of different types, durations, and intensities of exercise on glucose homeostasis; interactions between exercise and oral hypoglycemic medications; and various systematic reviews/meta-analyses on exercise, adiposity, and diabetes.
