Luca Faes

Luca Faes received an M.S. degree in electronic engineering from the University of Padova, Padova, Italy, in 1998, and a Ph.D. degree in electronic devices from the University of Trento, Trento, Italy, in 2003. Since 2004, he has been working as a Research Fellow at the Department of Physics, University of Trento, Trento, Italy. He has been serving as a Visiting Researcher at the State University of New York, NY, USA, in 2007, the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, MA, USA, in 2010, and the University of Gent, Gent, Belgium, in 2013. He is currently with the Bruno Kessler Foundation and the Interdepartmental Center for Biotechnologies (BIOtech), University of Trento, Trento, Italy. He works as an Associate Editor for the journals of International Scholarly Research Notices and Computational and Mathematical Methods in Medicine and the Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, where he regularly organizes invited sessions. He serves as a Member of the European Study Group on Cardiovascular Oscillations (ESGCO) and of the program committee of several conferences on medical signal processing. He is serving as a Reviewer for several journals in the fields of applied physics, biomedical engineering, biological cybernetics, and neurosciences. His research activity is focused on the development of methods for time series analysis and system modeling, with applications to cardiovascular neuroscience, cardiac arrhythmias, brain connectivity, and physiological networks. Within this field, he has guest-edited two journal special issues and has authored five book chapters and more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings, receiving more than 1000 citations until now. His h-index is 25.
