Marcio F. Chedid obtained the M.D. degree from UFRGS, Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil, in 2004. Dr. Chedid concluded a 5-year general surgery and surgical oncology residency at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (UFRGS), Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil, in 2010. Dr. Chedid is ECFMG certified and was a Clinical Fellow in Abdominal Transplantation Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, USA, from 2011 to 2013. Dr. Chedid currently is an Attending Transplant and General Surgeon at Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (UFRGS). Dr. Chedid was the world's pioneer in successful human pancreas transplantation utilizing IGL-1 preservation solution: and Dr. Chedid is a Former Professor of Human Anatomy at Medical School of UFRGS and has authored/coauthored a textbook of Human Anatomy published by the UFRGS University Press. Dr. Chedid also authored/coauthored over 30 scientific articles in surgery and medicine.
