Salah M. Sultan received his Ph.D. degree in 1982 from the University of Exeter, Exeter, UK. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK, and a Chartered Chemist. In the industry, he was involved in developing and updating as well in establishing modern QA and QC labs in the Middle East. He is the Founder and the President of Samf Pharmaceutical Co. founded in 1996 having two main divisions, the Laboratory Design, Setup, and Development Division and the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility Division. He is the leading scientist in Flow Injection Analysis technique, working as the Consultant for the Middle East for FIA Lab Instruments, USA. In research and publications, Sultan has been awarded The Best Researcher Award at KFUPM, 1998. He has published four books and more than hundred papers and monographs in internationally reputable journals and conferences. His research interests include establishing and adopting new methods of analysis, kinetics and mechanisms of reactions of analytical interest, chemometrics, and flow injection analysis technique. In the academia, Professor Sultan has worked as an Assistant Professor at King Saud University, Riyadh, 1982–1988. From 1988 to 2010, he worked as an Associate Professor for King Fahd University, Dhahran, and promoted to Full Professor in 1996. He focused on teaching environmental chemistry, general chemistry, analytical chemistry, and instrumentation. Sultan has acted as a Main Supervisor for more than ten Ph.D. and more than twenty M.S. students.
