Marisa Vulcano

Marisa Vulcano was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in immunology from the Buenos Aires University School of Exact and Natural Sciences, Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1997. She is a Member of the scientist research career at the Argentinean National Council for Research and Technology (CONICET). She performed her postdoctoral training at the “Istituto Mario Negri”, in Milan, Italy, in Professor Alberto Mantovani’s laboratories (from 1998 to 2003). During the last years, she has been involved in studies dealing with the mechanisms regulating the effector functions of cells belonging to the innate system. In particular, she has greatly focused her research in the study of the immunobiology of dendritic cells. Presently, she is conducting research and teaching at the Laboratory of Immunopharmacology of the Medical School of Buenos Aires.
