Abdullah Mohammad Asiri

Abdullah Mohammad Asiri serves as a Professor of organic photochemistry. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Wales, College of Cardiff, UK, in 1995, and his B.S. degree in chemistry from King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia. He is currently the Head of the Chemistry Department at King Abdulaziz University, a position he has held since October 2009. He is also Founder and Director of the Center of Excellence for Advanced Materials Research. His research interest covers color chemistry, synthesis of novel photochromic, thermochromic systems, synthesis of novel coloring matters and dyeing of textiles, materials chemistry, nanochemistry, and nanotechnology polymers and plastics. He is the Editor-in-Chief of King Abdulaziz University Journal of Science. He is also a member of the editorial board of Pigments and Resin Technology (UK), Organic Chemistry in Sight (New Zealand), and Recent Patents on Materials Science (USA). He is the Vice-President of the Saudi Chemical Society (Western Province Branch). He has published more than 260 journal papers, has 3 patents, and has written 9 books.
