Muthuswamy Sathishkumar

Muthuswamy Sathishkumar received his M.S. degree in environmental sciences and his Ph.D. degree in biotechnology (specialization: environmental) at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, India, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. He served as a Postdoctorate at Chonbuk National University, Jeonju, Republic of Korea, from 2006 to 2009. He also served as a Junior Research Fellow in the Defense Research and Development Organization, Bharathiar University Center (1999–2001), Coimbatore, India; the Head of the R&D, Regent Ecotech Pvt Ltd., India (2004-2005); and a Postdoctoral Scientist, Chonbuk National University, Republic of Korea (2005–2009). Since 2009, Sathishkumar has worked as a Staff Scientist and a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, Singapore. Moreover, he won best paper awards in several international conferences. He acts as an editorial board member of two international journals and a Group Member in Aquatic Science Centre (ASC). He is the author of several highly cited journal articles in respected journals and has over 70 journal publications and 40 conference presentations. He also had 4 patents to his credit. His research areas include microbial and environmental biotechnology, nanotechnology, Green technologies, bioremediation, enzymes, biosorption, and limnology.
