Dimitris Fotakis

Dimitris Fotakis works as a Senior Researcher at Faculty of Technical Sciences, Novi Sad University, Novi Sad, Serbia. He holds interdisciplinary Ph.D. degree combining natural resources and operational research. After obtaining a B.S. degree in forestry in 2000, he was working in various projects as Practitioner and forest Manager in Greece until 2013 combining research and working experience. He received his M.S. degree in geoinformatics with emphasis on hydrology modelling in 2003 and his Ph.D. degree in 2009 from the Faculty of Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Thessaloniki, Greece. Both his M.S. and Ph.D. researches were funded by the Greek Foundation of National Scholarships and he has received funding twice from AUTH Research Committee for postdoc research. He has acquired solid teaching experience as a Teaching Associate for several graduate and undergraduate courses and human resources management experience mentoring and training technicians. He has been invited as Reviewer by several international journals and he is a member of various European networks. His current research interests are natural resources management and ICTs in a variety of interrelated areas.
