Yaohua Deng received the Ph.D.degree in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, in 2012, and attended as Senior Postdoctoral Fellow in University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA, from 2015 to now. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Electrical, Guangdong University of Technology, Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. He also serves as the Peer Reviewer in National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Director of China Instrument and Control Society, the Director and the Deputy Secretary-General of Guangzhou Instrument and Control Society, a member of Technical committee on Unmanned Intelligent Technology Standardization of Guangdong Province. His research interest includes the modeling of flexible material deformation compensation, the theory of intelligent maintenance system. He has presided two projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and two projects of Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province about research on flexible material, and he holds 4 national invention patents of China. He has authored two books and more than 20 articles. During Dr. Deng’s study in the University of Michigan, he participated in the research team of the National Intelligence Maintenance System Center, the toolkit which they developed has been applied in the automotive engine, machine tools, welding robots, electric vehicles and other systems for three USA major automotive companies. By cooperating with Professor Jun Ni, he impelled the University of Michigan and Guangdong Province to establish an international innovation center of intelligent manufacturing. He received the second prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Award in 2017 and the second prize of China Instrument and Control Society Science and Technology Award in 2017.
