Tuan Guo received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Xi’an Shiyou University, Xi’an, China, in 2001 and 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in optics from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 2007. Thereafter, Guo worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Electronics, Carleton University, Ottawa, ON, Canada, and the Photonics Research Centre, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. In 2011, Dr. Guo joined Jinan University, Guangzhou, China, as an Associate Professor and was promoted to a Full Professor in 2014. He is currently a Professor at the Institute of Photonics Technology, Jinan University, Guangzhou, China. From 2010 to 2014, he was an Associate Editor of the Journal of Sensors and a Guest Editor of a special issue on “Recent Advances in Fiber Bragg Grating Sensing” of MDPI Sensors in 2016. He is a Member of the Optical Society of America and IEEE. Guo has authored or coauthored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles mainly in Nature Communications, Biosensors and Bioelectronics, Analytical Chemistry, Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, Applied Physics Letters, Optics Letters, Optics Express, and IEEE series. He presented 20 invited talks at international and national conferences and holds 15 patents and pending patents. His research interests include optical fiber sensors, fiber lasers, fiber gratings, plasmonics, biophotonics, and microfluidic and microcavity devices.
