McGill University, Canada

Frédéric Guichard obtained his Ph.D. degree from Laval University, Québec, QC, Canada, in 2000. Guichard works as an Associate Professor at the Department of Biology, McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada. He is a theoretical ecologist who is interested in spatial and nonlinear dynamics of communities and ecosystems. His current research includes the development of metaecosystem theory to understand the role of biogeochemical cycles for the stability and structure of spatially structured communities. He also studies the role of movement of individuals and matter and of species interaction for the maintenance of synchronous fluctuations in the abundance of species.
