Mark Willems is a Professor in Exercise Physiology in the Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Chichester. He received an M.S. degree in exercise physiology and functional anatomy in 1990 from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a Ph.D. degree in human movement sciences from the same institute in 1994. He has been in postdoctoral positions at the University of Bristol (UK) and West Virginia University (USA) but is based in Chichester since 2003. In Chichester, he is a Member of the Centre for Applied Sport and Exercise Sciences with a research interest in applied muscle physiology, sports nutrition and exercise, and ageing. He is a Fellow of the European College of Sport Science and Professional Member of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences.
