Francesco Secundo

Istituto di Chimica del Riconoscimento Molecolare, Italy

Francesco Secundo was born in 1966. He is a Research Scientist at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) in Milan, where he has been carrying out research activity since 1986. He obtained his Laurea degree in biological science at the University of Milan, Italy, in 1992. In 1994, he spent one year at the University of Georgia (Athens, USA) under the supervision of Professor Robert Phillips studying the enantioselectivity of some alcohol dehydrogenases. His activity is documented by more than 70 publications on international journals and by several oral communications at conferences. He has participated in several research projects that concerned enzyme immobilization, conformational analysis of proteins, and lipid analysis in milk. Since January 2011, he has been a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering and an Associate Editor for Biocatalysis and Biotransformation journal. His current interests are in the area of biocatalysis, devoting particular attention to the formulation and immobilization of the biocatalyst for catalysis in nonconventional media, for biosensors development, and for developing surfaces with antifouling properties.
