Hao Lin obtained the Ph.D. degree in biophysics from the Department of Physics, Inner Mongolia University, Inner Mongolia, China, in 2007. Lin is an Associate Professor at the Center of Bioinformatics, School of Life Science and Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, Sichuan, China. His research fields include protein type prediction, DNA functional fragment prediction, and gene regulatory network. At present, he mainly focuses on the following areas: developing efficient and accurate method to predict ion channel, membrane protein type, and outer membrane protein; designing theoretic algorithm to study mycobacterial protein, such as membrane protein, protein subcellular localization, and secretory protein; analysis and prediction of nucleosome, promoter, exon/intron splice site, and palindrome sequence using structural features; and constructing biological regulatory network and studying the physical mechanics of the network.
