I studied undergraduate and masters in Ceramic Engineering from College of Ceramic Technology, Kolkata and Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, respectively. Then I completed Ph.D. in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, India in the year 2008. During my PhD I worked on bioceramic composites for orthopedic applications. After the Ph.D. course, I got the prestigious "Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS)" fellowship and worked two years (Nov. 2008-Nov.2010) in IMR, Tohoku University, Japan on bioceramic coating on Ti implant. After that, I spent one and half year (Dec 2010-May2012) in Chubu University, Japan as a researcher and worked on surface modification of Ti by chemical and heat treatment with Prof. T. Kokubo. Since May 2012, I have been working at the Cavinkare Research Centre (CRC), Chennai, India. Currently, I am working on natural biomaterials like hair. Till now, I have published 25 research papers in peer reviewed journals, two book chapters and filed one Japanese patent.
