Yonghuai Liu serves as a Senior Lecturer at Aberystwyth University since 2011. He started in 2001 as a Lecturer at the same university and obtained his first Ph.D. degree in 1998 from Northwestern Polytechnical University, China, and his second Ph.D. degree in 2001 from The University of Hull, UK. From April to September 1999, he worked as a Research Assistant at The University of Hull. From March 2000 to September 2001, he worked as a Research Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University. He serves currently as an Associate Editor for the international Pattern Recognition Letters journal, as an Editorial Board Member of the international Journal of Education, Informatics, and Cybernetics, and a Guest Editor for International Journal of Computer Vision and EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing. He served as a Guest Editor for the International Computer Vision and Image Understanding Journal. He has been serving as a Program Committee Member and as a Referee for more than 30 international conferences and journals. He has published more than 140 papers in international conference proceedings and journals. His primary research interests lie in 3D computer vision, image registration, motion estimation, pattern recognition, image processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and intelligent systems. He is a Member of IEEE and Fellow of Higher Education Academy of UK.
