André Mégarbané is a Doctor of Medicine, and received a Diploma in 1990 and a Diploma of genetic diseases Specialist in 1994 from the Saint Joseph University, Beirut, Lebanon. He also received a Ph.D. degree in science in 1997 Paris, France. He is a Professor of Medical Genetics, the Head of the Medical Genetic Unit at the St. Joseph University, Lebanon. His research interest are mental retardation, dysmorphology, and osseous malformations. He is an Author and Coauthor of more than 175 publications. He is a Member of the Lebanese National Consultative Ethics Committee, the American Society of Human Genetics, and the European Society of Human Genetics. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Medical Genetics, and a Member of the Rammal Rammal committee Prize. He received 4 scientific awards: Abdel Hamid Shuman award; Rammal Rammal Medal; Mohammad El-Fasi Young Researcher; Makhzoumi Association award.
