Rene C.-Gaudreault

René C.-Gaudreault is currently a Full Professor at the Department of Molecular Medicine, Université Laval, Quebec City, QC, Canada. He obtained the B.S. degree in health sciences and a B.S. degree in pharmacy from Universit√© Laval in 1973. He also completed the M.S. degree in pharmacy in 1979 and the Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry in 1983 at the same university. Afterwards, he spent 3 years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Radiopharmacy and Bionucleonics, University of Alberta. He moved to the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières in 1986 as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry-Biology. He became an Assistant Professor in 1987 at the Department of Pharmacology, University Laval, an Associate Professor in 1994, and a Full Professor in 1998. He has a broad expertise in medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology, and his research programs focus on drug delivery systems and anticancer and asthmatic drugs. He has published over 90 manuscripts in high-impact journals such as Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, and Cancer Research. He is the inventor and the coinventor of over 30 patents, and he was awarded several academic distinctions, notably the Friesen-Rygel Medal for outstanding canadian academic discovery leading to uniquely positioned commercialization opportunities
