Radha D. Kale

Radha D. Kale is a Professor of Zoology. She has received her Ph.D. degree in the 1973 and she possesses more than 34 years of teaching and research experience on applied biology, physiology, and ecology of Earthworms; mostly on agricultural aspects and solid waste management. She has published more than 140 papers in various internationally reputed and peer-reviewed journals. Into her credit, she holds the publication of two books in English: Earthworm-Cinderella of Organic Farming and Vermicompost-Crown Jewel of Organic Farming. She is holding various positions and membership in various scientific associations: the Indian Society of Soil Biology and Ecology, World Organization for Humus Production (Germany), National Academy of Sciences (India), International Scientific Society for Interdisciplinary Sciences (Germany), International Scientific Advisory Committee for Symposia on Earthworm Ecology, France (1990), USA (1994, 2000), Spain (1998), China (2003), South Korea (2005), and Panelist, Philippines (2005). She has been serving as a Referee for various government agencies (India): Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Indian National Science Academy (INSA), University Grants Commission (UGC), and Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology. She has visited many countries for research and academic pursuits, including UK, Germany, France, USA, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, South Korea, Phillippines, and Luxemburg. She has been the recipient of the State Award from Pollution Control Board, Karnataka State (1995), Dr. M. R. Bhiday's Award instituted by Dr. R. T. Doshi Foundation, Mumbai (1998), National Award for Women's Development through the Application of Science and Technology instituted by DST (2004).
