Carmen De Maio recieved the M.S. degree in 2007 and the Ph.D. degree in 2011. Maio is, from 2014, an Assistant Professor in computer science at Department of Information Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics at University of Salerno, Italy. Her research interests cover hybrid approaches based on computational intelligence applied to several domains such as fuzzy decision making, knowledge extraction and management, situation and context awareness, semantic information retrieval, ontology engineering, cognitive systems, and big data. She has coauthored over fifty scientific papers published in international journals, book chapters, and international conferences. She is a Member of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, IEEE Computer Society, and IEEE Systems Man and Cybernetics Society.
