Sergio I. Molina

Sergio I. Molina has been a Full Professor in the University of Cadiz in the field of materials science and engineering since April 2005. He has been Associate Professor since 1998 and is Scientific Advisor of the Electron Microscopy Division of this university. He was a Postdoc in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy of the University of Cambridge, UK, and he has carried out research visits to the University of Liverpool, the University of Sheffield, and the EPFL of Lausanne, Switzerland. He has visited for one year (2006-2007) the STEM Group of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Tenn, USA. He is Coauthor of more than 135 publications and 210 communications in the research area of design and characterization by electron beam techniques of semiconductor heterostructures and nanostructures for electronics, optoelectronics, photonics, and photovoltaics. He has been the PI of 12 research projects, has participated as Researcher in 27 research projects, and has supervised 18 doctoral, diploma theses and other academic works in this field. He has been the Leader of Education Task in the European SANDiE Network of Excellence. He is responsible of the UCA Materials Micro- and Nano-Characterization Laboratory ( He is coordinating the creation of the research Institute of Electron Microscopy and Materials at the University of Cádiz.
