Guilherme Antonio Behr is a biologist and performed his Ph.D. degree in biochemistry at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Dr. Behr has been studied the role of free radicals in the influence of pheromones and chemical cues on the function of reproductive organs and the central nervous system. Besides, his work also focused on the biology of the antioxidant response of different organs to oxidant insults related to diabetes, highly enriched vitamin supplementations, exercise, and other physiological or pathological conditions in rodent animal models. Presently, his research is focused on the study of oxidative stress markers in women with perimenopausal depression in the group of Dr. Benicio Frey at the McMaster University, in Canada.
