Working at the Icelandic Seal Center, Hvammstangi, northwest Iceland, doing research on Icelandic seal populations, diet, haul-out behaviour, aerial surveys and conservation. Worked earlier at the Marine Research Institute in Reykjavík, doing research on growth and reproduction of minke whales in Icelandic waters. Also determining age of finwhales from GLGs in their earplugs. Earlier research work; investigating nematode infestations of fish and studying colonization of benthic invertebrates on rocky bottoms off Surtsey, South-Iceland. Member of NAMMCO's scientific committee since 2012.
