Zacharias Anastassi

Zacharias A. Anastassi received his Ph.D. degree in numerical analysis from the University of Peloponnese, Tripolis, Greece, in 2006, and his B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from Democritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece, in 2002. Currently he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Statistics, Qatar University, Doha, Qatar. Previously he was a Lecturer at the University of Peloponnese, Greece, for three years, an Assistant Professor at Technological Educational Institute of Kalamata, Greece, for one year and an Assistant Professor at School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPETE), Greece, for two years. Dr. Anastassi’s research interests include the numerical solution of initial-value and boundary-value problems especially with periodic/oscillatory solutions, scientific computing, development of software packages, parallel algorithms, and applications in computational chemistry, computational physics, engineering, and so forth. He is Associate Editor of “Applied Mathematics and Computation”, Elsevier and Editor of “Journal of Theoretical Chemistry” and “The Scientific World Journal”, Hindawi. He has been a Vice Chairman of the “International Conference of Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics” and Coeditor of the proceedings of the same conference for the years 2011, 2012. He has also organized several symposia, coedited special issues of international peer-reviewed journals, and participated in the program committee of international conferences. He has more than 30 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, one monograph in Physics Reports, and more than 25 abstracts in proceedings of international conferences.
