Sebastian C. Peter received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry from the Calicut University, Malappuram, India, in 1998 and 2000, respectively, an M.Tech. degree in industrial catalysis from the Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, India, in 2002, and a Ph.D. degree in chemistry from the University of Münster, Münster, Germany, in 2006. He served as a Postdoc Fellow at Max Plank Institute for Chemical Physics of Solids, Dresden, Germany, from 2006 to 2007, and at Northwestern University, Chicago, Ill, USA, from 2007 to 2010. Peter joined the New Chemistry Unit, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore, India, as a Faculty Fellow (Assistant Professor), in 2010, and was awarded the Ramanujan Fellowship in the field of chemical sciences in the same year. He has over 75 peer‐reviewed publications. His broad research interests include solid‐state inorganic chemistry ranging from exploratory synthesis in chalcogenide to intermetallic compounds, magnetic materials, hybrid materials, semiconductors, and nanomaterials.
