S. John Sullivan

John Sullivan is a Professor in the Centre for Physiotherapy Research at the University of Otago and a member of the Sport and Exercise research team. He received his Diploma in Physical Education from the University of Otago and a Masters and PhD in Kinesiology for the University of Waterloo (Canada). John has worked in Australia, Canada and France as well as in New Zealand. He has published research in the following areas: the measurement of neurological deficits; the use of therapeutic massage; the role of physical activity in the rehabilitation process following a traumatic brain injury; the development of tools for the assessment of a sports concussion and, the knowledge and awareness of a concussive brain injury and best practice guidelines. His current research is focused on the understanding of the role of social media in concussion awareness and management.
