Yong-Gang Xia

Yong-Gang Xia is outstanding backbone of Key Laboratory of Chinese Materia Medica (Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine, Ministry of Education, Harbin, China) and academic backup leader of key discipline of Heilongjiang province Chinese medicine. He graduated from Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine with Ph.D. degree in the field of chemistry of Chinese medicine. He is always engaged in Chinese medicine research and has acquired some achievements in natural product research, theory of TCM property, and creative drug. His current research interests are focused on (1) natural products-extraction, isolation, purification, and structural elucidation of active ingredients, especially biological macromolecule polysaccharides using periodate oxidation, Smith degradation, partial acid hydrolysis, methylation analysis, and NMR methods; (2) quality control methods, including HPLC-UV-ELSD, UPLC-QTOF, HPCE, and GC-MS, for Chinese medicine; (3) metabonomics research of Chinese medicine based on UPLC-QTOF using chemometric methods, including PCA, PLS, and OPLS-DA.
