Yu Jiang was born in Hubei, China, on August 21, 1977. He graduated from National University of Defense Technology (NUDT) in China, with a B.S. degree in mechatronic engineering in 1995. He received his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering in 2005 from NUDT. He was a Visiting Scholar at the ISEHML Lab of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Akron (02/10/2014-02/10/2015). His main research fields are on reliability engineering, structural health monitoring and damage detection, and accelerated vibration fatigue life testing and assessment. He is currently an Associate Professor in NUDT. He has published a few academic research papers in international Journals. He has been a PI and co-PI of various research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, China government and industries, and so on.
