Michael W. Roberts

Michael W. Roberts received a D.D.S. degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston, Tex, USA, and completed a hospital dental internship (general practice residency) at the US Public Health Service Hospital in Boston. In 1970, he completed a residency in pediatric dentistry at the Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry, Boston, Mass, USA, where he was awarded an M.S.D. degree. Following a career in the US Public Health Service, Roberts joined the faculty of the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, NC, USA in 1989. He has served as the Graduate Program Director, Associate Chair, and Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Roberts serves as the Henson Distinguished Professor in Pediatric Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) and served seven years on the Board of the ABPD, including one year as a President. In addition, he has served as the President of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Roberts has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has contributed in numerous text books of pediatric dentistry.
