Nikolaos A. Laskaris

Nikolaos A. Laskaris received both the M.S. degree in medical physics (1995) and Ph.D. degree in biomedical signal processing (1998) from Patras University, Greece. He joined the Laboratory for Human Brain Dynamics in the Brain Science Institute (BSI) of RIKEN in Japan, for four years (1999–2003), where he worked mostly as a neuroengineer. He received a grant from the Greek GSRT (ENTER Program) for working as an Associate Researcher at the Electronics Laboratory of Physics Department of Patras University (2003-2004), where he was involved in the development of neuromorphic signal/image processing techniques. Currently, he is a faculty member of Informatics Department of AUTH. His current research interests include computational intelligence, machine vision, soft computing, data mining, nonlinear dynamics, and their applications in biomedicine and neuroscience.
