Elias C. Vagenas

Elias C. Vagenas studied at the University of Athens, Athens, Greece, where he received the Ph.D. degree in 2002. He held a Postdoc position at the University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain, from 2003 to 2004, and another one at the University of Athens, Greece, from 2005 to 2007. In 2008, he was elected a Research Assistant Professor at the Research Center for Astronomy and Applied Mathematics of the Academy of Athens. In 2011, he got his tenure and was promoted to a Researcher Associate Professor. In September 2013, he moved to Kuwait University as an Associate Professor and joined the Theoretical Physics Group in the Department of Physics. His research interests are general relativity, black holes, cosmology, quantum fields in curved space time, quantum gravity (QG), and QG phenomenology. He is the author of 49 publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and his h-index is 29. He serves as an Editorial Board Member for the Central European Journal of Physics, Journal of Modern Physics and Applications, Dataset Papers in Physics, and the Advances in High Energy Physics and as an Editorial Advisory Board Member of the Open Nuclear and Particle Physics Journal. He acts as a referee for more than 15 journals. In 2007, he coauthored a paper published in the International Journal of Modern Physics D which received an Honorable Mention in the Gravity Research Foundation Annual Essay Competition.
