Karen Hardinger is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administration, School of Pharmacy, the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Mo, USA. Also, she is a Clinical Pharmacist at the Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo, USA. She received her D.P. degree from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kan, USA. After completing an ASHP-accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Ky, USA, she trained as a Specialty Resident in transplantation/immunology at the University of Tennessee/Bowld Hospital in Memphis, Tenn, USA. Before her appointment at UMKC, she worked as a Clinical Pharmacist Specializing in transplantation at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University in St. Louis, Mo, USA. Dr. Hardinger is a Board Certified in pharmacotherapy. Her teaching and patient care activities focus on transplantation, as well as liver, renal, and lung disease, and her research examines the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of immunosuppressive medications. She has published articles relating to the field of transplantation in the American Journal of Transplantation, Transplantation and Pharmacotherapy and has given several presentations at international meetings.
