Zsolt Molnár

Zsolt Molnár is currently the Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, University of Szeged, Szeged, Hungary. Dr. Molnár graduated from the University of Pécs Medical School, Hungary, in 1988, and started his training at the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Therapy in Pécs. From 1992 to 1997, he worked as a Trainee in anaesthesia and intensive care in the UK, and, from 1995 to 1997, he was appointed as a Clinical Research Fellow in intensive care at the University Hospital Aintree, Liverpool, UK. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1999 from the University of Pécs, Hungary. He was appointed as a Professor at the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Therapy in Pécs from 2005 to 2009. He was appointed the current position at the University of Szeged in 2009. Dr. Molnár has published extensively in the area of critical care medicine. His main research interests are sepsis-related haemodynamic changes, fluid therapy, markers of inflammation, and oxygen debt and perioperative intensive care. Dr. Molnár is currently active in clinical trials for perioperative haemodynamic optimization and is a Consultant to major companies in this field.
