Qinghua Nie received the B.A. degree in animal science from Huazhong Agricultural University, Wuhan, China, in 1997, and the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in animal genetics and breeding from South China Agricultural University, in 2000 and 2004, respectively. He is a Professor at South China Agricultural University (since 2010), with animal molecular genetics as the main area of expertise. He was a Visiting scientist at International Livestock Research Institute, Nairobi, Kenya (2005-2006), and Department of Animal Science, Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, USA (2010-2011).
