Jeffrey A. Koempel

Jeffrey A. Koempel obtained both his undergraduate (1986) and Medical degrees (1991) at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, USA. He completed a residency program in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago (1996) and a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology at the Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago under Lauren Holinger, M.D. (1997). He currently holds the position of Chief of the Division of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and Associate Professor at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. In 2005, Dr. Koempel completed the health care Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the Paul Merage School of Business of the University of California, Irvine. He has written articles and has given many presentations on business of medicine topics such as understanding managed care, health care system reform, and health care policy and politics. Outside the United States, Dr. Koempel has acted as a Visiting Professor at the University of Zagreb Medical School in the Republic of Croatia and the Maternal and Child Research Center in Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia. He serves also a Reviewer for the Saudi Medical Journal, the BioMed Central Ear, Nose and Throat Disorders (London, UK), and the International Journal of Otolaryngology (London, UK).
