Guoliang Hu received his B. E. degree from Nanchang University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China, in 1996, his M.E. degree from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, Hubei, China, in 2002, and his Ph.D. degree from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 2006. He is now with the School of Mechatronics & Vehicle Engineering of East China, Jiaotong University, as a Lecturer (2006–2008), Associate Professor (2008–2013), and Professor (2014 till now). His research fields cover smart materials and smart structures, theory and development of fire extinguishing equipment, and fluid power transmission and control. He has accumulated extensive research experiences in these fields and has been awarded numerous research grants from a variety of funding agencies. He has coauthored more than 110 journal articles and more than 30 conference papers and issued more than 60 invention patents in China.
