Radu Badea, who serves as the Director of CECUS, has the Ph.D. degree in medicine. He works as a Professor of medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacology, Napoca. He has published more than 100 papers on international journals on Ultrasound imaging analysis. His main research field is ultrasound analysis. Prior to his teaching activity, he develops an intensive research activity, being involved in several national and European research projects such as preparing an integrated telesonography system for the screening of the malign tumors (TeleHepaScan Project), elaborating an optimized procedure for the processing of the ecographic images in the early diagnosis of the prostate cancer (IntelPro Project), and elaborating some noninvasive diagnosis procedures for steatosis and liver fibrosis (SIDEF Project and Sonofibrocast Project). He is a Member if of different scientific associations on the domain of ultrasonography, internal medicine, and gastroenterology, and since 2006, he is a Member of the Board Committee of the Romanian Association of Ultrasonography in Medicine and Biology.
