Eleni Kaldoudi

Eleni Kaldoudi received a B.S. degree in physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1987, an M.S. degree in medical physics from the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK, in 1989, a certificate in management studies from the University of Surrey, UK in 1989, and a Ph.D. degree in bioengineering from UCL, London, UK, in 1994. Currently, she is an Associate Professor in Physics of Medical Imaging & Telemedicine at the School of Medicine, Democritus University of Thrace, Komotini, Greece. Formerly, she has been an Associate Researcher at the Center of Medical Informatics and Telematics Applications in Medicine, Institute of Computer Science, Foundation of Research and Technology- Hellas (ICS-FORTH). Prof. Kaldoudi has acted as a Member of the Greek National Representative team for the EU FP7 Programme Capacities. She has been a reviewer in a number of scientific journals and a member of the scientific committee for a number of international conferences in field of medical informatics and telematics. Her research interests are within the areas of medical informatics and telematics, with emphasis on technologies supporting medical education, home care telematics, medical image management, and magnetic resonance imaging, in which she has published one book and over 70 papers in various journals and conference proceedings. She has participated either as a technical coordinator or as project leader in 5 national and EU funded projects and as a team member in more than 20 projects. Kaldoudi is also a Member of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) Committee on “Women in Medical and Biological Engineering.”
