Pedro Mendoza de Gives is a Veterinarian graduated in the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City, Mexico. Then de Gives obtained the M.S. degree as a Parasitologist in the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos, in Cuernavaca City, MOR, Mexico. Finally, de Gives obtained the Ph.D. grade in biotechnology in the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, UK. de Gives has spent almost his whole life as a Researcher at the National Center of Disciplinary Research in Veterinary Parasitology (CENID-PAVET-INIFAP, Mexico) working with alternative methods of control of animal parasitic nematodes, mainly Nematophagous fungi, nematode-predatory nematodes (cannibal nematodes), and other natural nematode-antagonists, including some plants producing chemical compounds and metabolites against nematodes of importance against parasitic nematodes of importance in agriculture and livestock industry.
