Taufik Abrão received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, all in electrical engineering, from the Polytechnic School of the University of Sao Paulo (EPUSP), São Paulo, SP, Brazil, in 1992, 1996, and 2001, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Electrical Engineering Department of the State University of Londrina (UEL), Londrina, PR, Brazil. In 2007 and 2008, he was a Visiting Professor at the Department of Signal Theory and Communications of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (TSC/UPC), Barcelona, Spain. His research interests include multiuser detection, MC-CDMA and MIMO systems, resource allocation, heuristic and convex optimization aspects of MC-CDMA systems, and 4G systems. He is the (co)author of more than a hundred research papers published in specialized periodicals and symposia.
