Claudia Montero-Menei obtained the Ph.D. in molecular biology from Université Paris Diderot-Paris 7, the French Diploma of Lab Animal Experimentation level 1 from the National Veterinary School of Nantes, and the H.D.R. from the University of Angers, in 1991, 1998, and 2002, respectively. Currently, Montero-Menei serves as an Associate Professor in cell biology at the University of Angers and as an Adjunct Professor in neurology at the University of Miami. Montero-Menei is a Group Leader of the Micromedicine and Tissue Engineering in Inserm, U 1066. Montero-Menei's areas of expertise include cell biology (stem cells, neurobiology); pharmaceutical science; cell therapy; tissue engineering.
