Oberdan Parodi, a holder of an M.D. degree, is the Director of the CNR Clinical Physiology Institute Milano, Niguarda Cà Granda Hospital, Milan Italy. Parodi graduated from the Medical School of the University of Pisa, 1972, has a specialty in cardiovascular diseases, University of Pisa, 1975, and has a specialty in nuclear medicine, University of Pisa, 1982. Parodi was the Head C.N.R Clinical Physiology Institute of Pisa, Nuclear Medicine and PET,1996-1997, the Head C.N.R Clinical Physiology Institute of Milan, 1997–2000, the Scientific Director I.R.C.C.S. Monzino Hospital, Milan, 2000-2001, the Director Complex Structure IFC CNR, Niguarda Hospital, Milan, since 2002, and the Director C.N.R Clinical Physiology Institute of Pisa, 2007-2008. Parodi was the Coordinator of Human Capital Mobility ERBCHBGCT 940572 Project, 1995–1997, the Coordinator of the ESPRIT-Sub-Project PACOMIP, CAPRI Project, 1995–1997, the Responsible for Research Unit HONIG, Project CaRDIS, FP5, 2001–2004, the Scientific Manager and Project Coordinator of IFC CNR, Project ARTreat IP ICT-2007, FP7, since 2008, Scientific Manager and Responsible for Research Unit IFC CNR, Project VPH2 STREP ICT-2007, FP7, since 2008, and the with the Coordination team IFC CNR-Milan, Project SensorART IP ICT-2009, FP7, since 2010. Parodi's current research interests are clinical cardiology, pathophysiology of cardiac diseases (heart transplantation, ischemic heart disease, cardiomyopathy), cardiac imaging, biomarkers, vascular biology, risk factors for vascular diseases, clinical pharmacology, clinical trials in ischemic heart disease, heart failure, arterial hypertension, and modelling atherosclerotic plaque growth.
