Dr. Estella Matutes, MD, PhD, MRCPath, FRCPath Reader in Haemato-Oncology and Consultant Haematologist Institute of Cancer Research/Royal Marsden Hospital London Graduated in the Faculty of Medicine, Barcelona University in 1975 receiving a Extraordinary Graduation Prize on Licenciate Degree (1976) and the titles of Specialist in Internal Medicine and in Haematology (1980). She was awarded two fellowships from the Medical research Council (MRC) and Leukaemia Research Fund at Hammersmith Hospital and achieved a degree of doctor of Philosophy (PhD) for the University of London in 1988. She is a recognized Teacher for the London University, a member of UK and international committees, amongst others the WHO committee for the Classification of acute leukaemias, the European Group for the immunological classification of leukaemias (EGIL), the UKCLL forum, UK Neqas, a faculty member of various European Tutorial boards, commissioning Editor for the British Medical Bulletin, associate Editor for Advances in Haematology, member of the Editorial board of Annals in Haematology and past and present grantholder of grants from the LRF, Cancer Research UK and Key Kendall. She has greater than 400 publications in international journals and more than 40 chapters in books and has edited four books. She is invited as speaker to national and international meetings and tutorials. At present is Reader in Haematological malignancies at the Institute of Cancer Research and Honorary Consultant Haematologist at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and her main interests and research are focused on the biology, pathogenesis and clinical management of patients with chronic B and T cell leukaemias and lymphomas and acute leukaemias
