Saad Tayyab

Saad Tayyab received his B.S. degree with honors in chemistry (1979), the M.S. degree in biochemistry (1981), the M.Phil. degree in biochemistry (1983), and the Ph.D. degree in biochemistry (1987), all degrees from Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh, India. He has served in the University of Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir, India, as a Lecturer in biochemistry (1987–1988), the Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh, India, as a Lecturer in biochemistry/biotechnology (1988–1992), Senior Grade-Biotechnology (1992–1997), and Reader-Biotechnology (1997–2001), and Alemaya University, East Harerge, Ethiopia, as an Associate Professor in biochemistry (2001–2004) under World Bank (ARTP) project. He has served as the Editorial Board Member of the Bioscience Education e Journal, UK (2008–2011), Indian Journal of Clinical Biochemistry (2002–2004), and the Journal of the Assam Science Society, India (2003–2005). Currently, he is serving as the Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Biological Chemistry (since 2008), the Asian Journal of Biochemistry (since 2008), and the Biochemistry Research International (since 2013). He has been involved in the reviewing process of the papers submitted to Biomacromolecules, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Journal of Luminescence, Journal of Physical Chemistry (B), Colloids & Surfaces (B), Journal of Molecular Catalysis (B), Journal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, Biochimie, Pesticide Biochemistry, and Physiology, Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology (B), Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Molecular Biology Reports, and Protein and Peptide Letters. His research interests include protein denaturation, protein/enzyme stabilization, ligand-protein interaction, and protein structure and function. Currently, his laboratory is engaged in studying protein stabilizing potential of honey, denaturation studies on amylase and glucoamylase, and flavonoid binding to serum albumins. Tayyab is currently working as a Professor of biochemistry at the Institute of Biological Sciences, University of Malaya, Malaysia, since 2004.
