Graciela A. Jahn is a Career Scientist from CONICET at the Instituto de BiologÍa y Medicina Experimental de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina, and currently is the Director of this institute. She received her Ph.D. degree in 1982 and her Biochemist degree in 1975 from the National University of Buenos Aires. Her main research subject is the biology of female reproduction, and she has focused on the regulation of PRL release and functions and the hormonal control of pregnancy, lactation, and ovarian and mammary functions. At present, her research involves the study of the effects of thyroid hormones on female reproduction and the study of the regulation of prolactin release during pregnancy and lactation using normal and lactation-deficient rats. She is also interested in collaborative studies of reproductive strategies, seasonal hormonal rhythms, and the impact of stress in mammals (armadillos, guanacos), reptiles (tupinambis, phymaturus), and other species native to Argentina and South America.
